Initially established in 1994, Essex Group, through a steady and managed expansion, have developed into a multi-million pound business delivering Electrical and Mechanical Services installations to the construction industry.

Collectively we trade under the banner of Essex Group. We own and operate from prestige Head Offices located in Basildon, Essex and are a team of dynamic, innovative and multi-disciplined building services engineers working predominantly in the Education, Healthcare, Leisure and Commercial sectors including Residential Developments for a wide spectrum of Principal Contractors and private Clients throughout London and the South East of England
Essex Group members undertake all aspects of Electrical and Mechanical engineering in either Trade Contractor or Principal Contractor status, in both single or combined disciplines, from initial design brief through to completion. Our ultimate mission is to provide an unparalleled, fully coordinated Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing ‘one stop’ Solution to all our clients building services requirements from general refurbishments to full M&E design and install turnkey packages on contracts up to a value in the region of £5m.
We aspire to deliver total client satisfaction, with many clients retaining our services year on year and employing Essex Group whenever the opportunity arises.
Our Services
Design & Coordination
If required Essex Group can undertake design work ranging from initial feasibility studies to fully coordinated design and build packages.
We have in-house CAD capability and resources available to verify, develop and coordinate consultant engineers tender and design intent drawings and models, or indeed to start from scratch.
Additionally, when required we supplement our own resources with tried and trusted external consultant engineers & BIM consultants to produce detailed coordinated MEP 3D models utilising industry standard and recognised modelling software.
Electrical
We have the experience to produce cost effective and innovative Designs, and to Install, Test & Commission Electrical Installations to the highest standards in the construction industry and also to our direct Client base.
With over 25 years of trading history we have a proven track record of undertaking a wide variety of Electrical Installations across a broad spectrum of Commercial, Educational, Healthcare, Retail and Residential Developments. With in house expertise to carry out complex engineering projects from inception to completion embracing a proactive and flexible approach to understanding our client’s requirements, focussed on achieving the ultimate goal of delivering a high quality Installation on time and within agreed budgets.
Mechanical
Our Mechanical Services Division was set up in 1995 to offer our clients the option to employ a multi-disciplined and fully coordinated contractor that in addition to Electrical Installations could also undertake a full range of Mechanical and Public Health Services Installations including all aspects of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
Our combined Electrical and Mechanical team collaborates closely to ensure smooth delivery of services that are are fully coordinated from initial design stage through to completion on site, and to the highest standards.
Allied Services
While engaged in general
Mechanical and Electrical services contracts we are additionally able to undertake many specialist allied disciplines such as Building Management, Control Systems and control panels, Passive ICT infrastructure and cabling networks, Lightning Protection works, Security Systems including Intruder Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, and Automation.
Inevitably, such specialist activities are likely to be outsourced to our tried and trusted supply chain partners, all manged and coordinated by our own management team.
Testing & Commissioning
We also provide Testing and Commissioning Services to meet our clients specification and the relevant Codes of practice including those published by CIBSE and BSRIA.
